Retaining wall questions

How much does a retaining wall cost in Perth?

Published Perth guides put installed walls at roughly $250 to $650 per square metre of wall face. Our cost guide has the sources and a worked example. For a real number, book a free measure.

Do I need council approval?

Often, once the wall retains more than 0.5 m. It varies by council. See our council approval guide. We check with yours before booking.

What's the best material for a retaining wall in Perth?

It depends on the job. Limestone suits gardens and front yards. Sleepers and panel-and-post suit boundaries, height and walls with a fence on top. We'll recommend one at the measure.

Why do Perth retaining walls fail?

Almost always drainage or footings. Perth sand lets water collect behind the wall and push it out, and footings that don't reach solid ground let it settle.

How long does a retaining wall take to build?

A short garden wall can be a one-day job. A long boundary wall with a fence on top takes longer. You get a start date and a realistic timeframe with your quote.

Do you remove the old wall?

Yes. Demolition, excavation, spoil removal and clean-up are in the quoted price.

Can you build the fence too?

Yes. We build the retaining wall and the Colorbond fence on top as one job.

Which areas do you cover?

All of Perth, mostly the northern suburbs. See our service areas.
